Monica Wharton has joined Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as chief legal officer. She will have responsibility for Legal Affairs, Claims Management and Corporate Compliance.
Wharton is a member of the MLH System Leadership Team, the group of senior leaders charged with providing overall strategic direction to the organization. She replaces Lynn Field who retired after 23 years with Methodist.
She comes to Methodist from Regional One Health where she served as chief legal officer, a position she held since 2008. Prior to that, she was an attorney with Glankler Brown, handling civil litigation cases in the areas of healthcare, employment and contracts. Wharton earned her Juris Doctor from the William and Mary School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Hampton University.
