Pediatric surgeon Regan Williams, MD, has been named medical director of Le Bonheur Children's Hospital's Trauma Program.
Williams is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center(UTHSC). She currently serves as director of Le Bonheur's Burn Task Force and co-director of the Vascular Anomalies Center. Her research efforts have focused on developing evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of pediatric trauma and surgical disease.
Williams is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Pediatrics and is an active member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. She completed a research fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and earned Master of Science in Epidemiology at UTHSC.
Le Bonheur's trauma program is an American College of Surgeons Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. It has also been designated a children's trauma center for Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.
